Terms and Conditions

Last updated: June 7th, 2026

These terms apply when you buy products from 5 Minute Blinds through our website, by email, over the phone, or through any other sales channel.

By placing an order with us, you agree to these terms.

1. Custom-Made Products

All of our products are custom-made to the details you provide when ordering.

This includes things like size, colour, fabric, product type, fitting type, control side, curtain heading, track details and finished drop.

Because custom-made products are made specifically for your order, they cannot be returned, exchanged or cancelled because of change of mind, incorrect measurements, wrong selections, or a change in your circumstances.

2. Measurements and Order Details

You are responsible for checking that all measurements, product selections and order details are correct before placing your order.

We provide measuring guides, product information and customer support to help you order. However, we do not offer check-measure or installation services. Any measuring or installation guidance we provide is general guidance only, and you remain responsible for the final measurements and installation.

We are not responsible for issues caused by incorrect measurements, incorrect installation, unsuitable existing tracks or brackets, third-party installers, site changes after ordering, uneven floors, out-of-square windows, or details that were not provided to us before the order was confirmed.

3. Samples, Colours and Product Images

Website images are a guide only. Colours can look different depending on screen settings, lighting, photography and the room they are viewed in.

Physical samples are the best guide to the product you will receive. However, minor variation can still occur between samples and finished products. As a general guide, small colour, texture, weave or finish variations of around 1–2% can be expected.

Products ordered at different times may not be an exact match to previous orders, samples or existing products in your home. This is especially relevant where orders are placed months or years apart, or where existing blinds or curtains have been exposed to sunlight, dust, cleaning, humidity or general use.

If matching an existing product, previous order or specific sample is important, please tell us before ordering. We will let you know what is possible, but exact matching cannot be guaranteed unless we confirm this in writing.

4. Fabric Movement and Curtain Drops

Curtains and fabric window furnishings are soft textile products. Fabric can relax, settle, move, stretch, shrink or change slightly over time due to the fabric composition, weave, lining, humidity, temperature, sunlight, handling, cleaning and installation method.

For standard floor-clear curtains, our goal is for the curtain to settle to approximately 10mm off the floor after the fabric has relaxed. Fabric can continue to settle over the first 3–6 months after installation.

Unless otherwise agreed in writing, a standard floor-clear curtain should generally sit around 5mm–15mm off the floor once installed at the correct track height and after the fabric has settled.

Curtain drop can also be affected by uneven floors, track height, hook position, heading style, installation method and fabric behaviour.

5. Manufacturing Tolerances

All products are custom-made, and small manufacturing tolerances are normal.

Products are assessed against the confirmed order details and the relevant product specifications. For example, a roller blind is to be assessed by its complete blind width, not only the fabric width.

Unless a product-specific tolerance applies, small dimensional variations may be considered within normal tolerance and will not automatically be treated as a fault.

As a general guide:

  • blinds may have a small manufacturing tolerance, commonly around ±1mm
  • curtains are assessed by the confirmed finished drop, the agreed installation height and the final finished appearance
  • minor fabric movement, settling and batch variation is normal

If a product falls outside normal tolerance, cannot reasonably be installed or operated, or does not achieve the agreed finished outcome because of an issue caused by us, we will assess it for rectification.

6. Pricing, Discounts and Promotions

Prices, discounts and promotions may change from time to time.

Unless clearly stated otherwise, discounts and promotions cannot be combined with any other offer, coupon code, trade pricing, special quote, credit, refund or discount.

Promotions only apply to eligible products and orders placed while the promotion is active. Promotions cannot be applied retrospectively to orders that have already been placed, paid for, confirmed or sent into production.

If we reasonably believe a discount or promotion has been misused, including through artificial order splitting, multiple names, multiple email addresses or similar methods, we may decline, adjust or remove the promotional benefit before accepting the order.

7. Order Review and Acceptance

After an order is placed, we may review the order details before accepting it or sending it into production.

If we notice an obvious issue, such as a measurement that appears unusual, a pricing error, a discount error, a product compatibility issue or missing information, we may contact you before proceeding.

We may cancel or refund an order before production if there is an obvious website, pricing, product or configuration error.

Once an order has been accepted and sent into production, it usually cannot be changed or cancelled.

8. Changes and Cancellations

Because our products are custom-made, changes and cancellations are only possible if the order has not yet entered production.

If you need to change or cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible.

If production has already started, we may not be able to make changes or cancel the order. If a change is possible, extra costs may apply.

9. Delivery, Unpacking and Damage

Delivery timeframes are estimates only. We will do our best to meet expected timeframes, but delays can occur.

Please inspect your order as soon as possible after delivery. Products should not be left unopened or stored in their packaging for extended periods. We recommend unpacking and checking all products within 7 days of delivery, and products should not remain in their packaging for more than 3 weeks.

If there is visible damage to the packaging or product, please contact us as soon as possible and provide photos of the packaging, product and delivery label.

Damage that is reported weeks after delivery can be difficult to verify as transit damage, especially if the product has been stored, moved, unpacked, handled or installed. Late reporting may affect our ability to assess or accept a transit damage claim.

This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Product Issues

If you believe a product has been made incorrectly, supplied incorrectly, damaged, defective or has a quality issue, please contact us promptly.

We may ask for photos, videos, measurements, packaging photos, installation photos or other reasonable information so we can assess the issue.

If the issue is caused by us, we will provide an appropriate remedy. Depending on the situation, this may include repair, alteration, remake, replacement, refund, store credit or another suitable solution.

11. Reworks and Specification Changes

A rework is used to correct an issue with the original product.

Unless we agree otherwise in writing, any repaired, altered, remade or replacement product will be made to the same specifications as the original confirmed order.

A rework is not an opportunity to change the original order.

If you request a change to the original size, colour, fabric, product type, control side, fitting type, track position, curtain drop, heading, lining or any other specification, that change is treated as a variation.

A variation may involve extra cost, extra lead time, extra fabric, additional freight, remake charges or a new order.

Where both we and the customer have contributed to the final issue, we will separate the causes.

Goodwill solutions may be offered at our discretion, but they do not change this policy or create an ongoing entitlement.

12. Returns, Refunds and Australian Consumer Law

Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Nothing in these terms limits, excludes or changes any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.

Custom-made products generally cannot be returned or refunded for change of mind, incorrect measurements, incorrect selections, incorrect installation, or because you later decide you would prefer something different.

If a product does not meet a consumer guarantee, we will assess the issue and provide an appropriate remedy in line with the Australian Consumer Law.

13. Care, Use and Maintenance

Products must be used, cleaned and maintained according to the care instructions provided.

We are not responsible for damage caused by misuse, incorrect installation, incorrect cleaning, harsh chemicals, excessive force, pets, children, insects, mould, moisture, condensation, building defects, unsuitable environments or normal wear and tear.

14. Cord and Child Safety

Products with cords, chains or operating loops must be installed and used safely.

Any safety devices, warning labels, cord guides, cleats, tensioners or other safety components supplied with the product must be installed and used correctly. They must not be removed, disabled or altered.

If you use your own installer, you are responsible for ensuring the product is installed safely and in line with the supplied instructions and applicable safety requirements. Product Safety Australia says mandatory standards apply to corded internal window coverings and related fittings.

15. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, images, logos, graphics, guides, product information and designs, belongs to 5 Minute Blinds or is used with permission.

You must not copy, reproduce or use our content without our written permission.

16. Privacy

We collect and use your personal information to process orders, provide customer support, arrange delivery, communicate with you and improve our services.

For more information, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

17. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.

Any dispute will be handled under the laws and courts of Victoria, Australia, unless another law applies.
